Scottish community hub SWAMP implements OLM’s ECLIPSE Lite to manage Covid-19 response

SWAMP, a leading third sector community organisation in Scotland, running as a Covid-19 response community hub, has selected OLM’s ECLIPSE Lite to help record and manage resources during the pandemic.

OLM ECLIPSE Lite, a software solution available free of charge until the end of September 2020, is designed specifically to coordinate the responses of local authority community hubs across the UK.

Deployed at pace, cloud-based ECLIPSE Lite has enabled staff and volunteers at SWAMP to quickly capture and manage data, via any device at anytime and from anywhere, and organise an appropriate response.  As an easy-to-use, secure and powerful solution, ECLIPSE Lite acts as an online community whiteboard; coordinating the work of members and providing real-time information on each person’s case within the Community Hub.

Community Development Trust, SWAMP provides accredited training, outreach, gardening, film, music, digital technologies and the creative arts to enable and empower social change. Focused around services such as health and wellbeing, community activities and the employability and training of young people SWAMP has a strong history of transforming local people’s lives.

In response to the pandemic, SWAMP set up a community hub to support emergency provision in the area.  It organised a community helpline for local people who were shielding or need further support. The service covers a range of support from mental health, to fuel/energy and food provision, with services provided both directly by SWAMP and through partners including police, health and social care partnership, food banks, and other community groups.

Andy Peline, project manager, at SWAMP said, “We knew we needed to offer a co-ordinated approach, and I felt that the right software could assist us to deliver the best service. After seeing the ECLIPSE Lite software I could instantly see the potential to support our operations. After selecting the software, it went live within a week. The support offered by OLM throughout the process was fantastic, you could tell they really cared as much as we did about the project. We can already really see the value in ECLIPSE and how it can help transform our local citizens' outcomes by helping us provide the right support at the right time.”

Mark Raeburn, managing director, OLM Systems stated, “With local authorities being required to respond rapidly with a digital solution to process community hub activities, we were delighted to be able to quickly adapt our ECLIPSE solution to support the requirements needed for a community response to the Covid-19 pandemic. We are proud of the valuable work health and social care and community groups are undertaking in Scotland to support our communities.

ECLIPSE Lite is one of the ways supporting the response, we are able to provide the software 100% free of charge until the end of September.”
