Continuing on from the success of last year’s conference, OLM Systems, descended upon Manchester Central for the annual meeting of minds known as, NCAS.
The event is attended each year by more than 1,000 delegates, made up of representatives from local authorities, local government and those with responsibility for or interests in social care, children’s services, education, health and related fields. This year it included a mix of keynote and ministerial addresses, plenary sessions by industry leaders and the opportunity to join in with discussions presented by ministerial and shadow teams.
The statement by Ruth Kennedy was commonplace at this year’s event. Those who visited our stand were impressed with the breadth of solution on offer. From the latest case management upgrade, Eclipse, to the brand-new BedFinder solution that we launched earlier this year to solve the bed blocking crisis, delegates were impressed, with queues forming around the corner of the stand.
Following on from a successful first day, we took customers for our annual meal to Don Giovanni’s, Manchester’s longest serving Italian restaurant. The restaurant being previously accredited with the Les Routiers Gold Award for exceptional standards in food and service.
Representatives from Plymouth City Council attended the meal and had the following to say:
“It was an enlightening evening and welcome break from the full programme of events at the NCAS Conference and we particularly enjoyed Peter’s illuminating talk on OLM’s journey over the last 25 years - so much has changed and is hard to imagine where we will be in another 25 years!”
The Platform for Care: Custom software that makes life easier
Following the meal, our dedicated team remained in attendance at the conference for the next two days, showcasing the benefits of the Platform for Care. Delegates were able to see that technology is an enabler in making the revolutionary changes to social care. They could see the benefits of the approach and how it will help them meet the requirements of the next five years.
A platform approach is the only workable model to meet the long term needs of the health and social care sector. It is an approach that we have taken with our latest technology and one that we believe gives our clients distinct benefits in delivering modern collaborative care. Delegates were able to see this first-hand and left with the knowledge that our software helps is built with compliance and the future of health and social care in mind.
Celebrating 25 years of innovation and growth
As many of you know, we are celebrating our 25th year in operation as an organisation this year. Peter O’Hara started OLM Systems on the 30th May 1991 with £1,000 in his pocket. Since then, the company has gone from strength to strength and Peter was on-site at NCAS, to speak with delegates about the latest updates within the Platform for Care. Delegates were able to see the passion that Peter has for health and social care and why, 25 years later, he still believes in making a difference.
